Edit 9/10/2025: Back again! For the past few years I have been a Comfort Authority "Comfort Plan" member and have received quite a few perks of the membership. Today might have been one of the BEST perks of all - a simple, honest walkthrough of my whole home to show me tips and tricks to keep my house at a comfortable temperature year round and especially during the FL summer! What prompted the call was that yesterday I had a run capacitor fail on my outdoor AC unit; knowing a thing or two about electricity I was able to replace it myself after doing the proper research - however I was concerned as to what CAUSED the capacitor to fail (as I just replaced it 15 months ago). So I called up Comfort Authority last night and this morning they sent CHRIS D. to my home. Chris checked my hard start kit (which they had previously installed) and after a very thorough discussion we determined the most likely culprit of my bad capacitor was AC short cycling. This sort cycling was a result of the natural location of the AC handler and thermostat in my home. Chris gave me an informative list of steps from changing my vents and strategically running ceiling fans to new thermostat and sensor options that will solve my temperature issues and my short-cycling. As a technical nerd, I had so many questions. Chris really seemed to care about not only helping me to understand the issues I am dealing with but he wanted me to save money as well - he wasn't just there to sell me new parts! Best of all, as a member, this visit was complimentary. I appreciate this company so much and they will continue to get my business and great reviews.... days like today and professional advice like this make being a comfort plan member worth every penny! ...... Edit April 2024: I've been a happy Comfort Authority customer for my AC and now they added the plumbing business! I'm thrilled with the professionalism, friendliness and beautiful installation of my new water heater. Eric and Gary did an excellent job on a difficult Hyrid Heat pump water heater. The price was right and the service was Excellent as always. The CA is my goto company for all my plumbing needs now... Thanks guys! ...... I had my AC installed by this company a few years ago. Steve and his team were exceptional then, and remain my go-to team for my HVAC needs. I just finished an inspection and the tech was on time, courteous and answered all of my nerdy questions about AC systems and airflows. Definitely would recommend these guys and their classical "golden rule type" friendly business model to anyone. This is one of the better companies (not just HVAC) that I've had the pleasure working with in Tampa or anywhere!

Rick was super nice and very professional. He arrived right on time and explained what needed to be replaced and what those parts did in the operation of the AC unit. He showed me pictures which really helped me to understand the concerns. Rick provided several options as to how to remedy the situation, but most importantly, he made the repairs efficiently and I now have cold air back on! He put everything back and left me no mess.
